sockITz have designed and produced a new Australian double power point socket that includes twin USB charging ports to charge mobile devices including iphones, ipads, ipods, gps devices and more. These devices can charge straight from the power point without the need of those charging bricks or wall warts. Our sockets leak no phantom or vampire power when not in use.

Vampire/phantom/standby power is the power devices use when left plugged in and traditionally phone chargers use quite a bit. Our product has zero standby power. When the retractable door close over the usb port the power is shut off from the transformer module.

Also in 2012 all the big phone manufacturers have decided on using a universal charging format to reduce the replacement charger market. After implementation, the plan is projected to bring down production of replacement chargers by as much as 51,000 tons annually. This will eliminate

13.6 million to 21.8 million tons of greenhouse gases emitted during manufacture. Our power socket is compatible with this new charging standard.
