Organic Living Tip....
Leave Those Spots on My Apples!... rejoice in the spots on your organic apples, or your organic peach being a little smaller than it's conventionally grown equivalent - not only do organic fruits have a depth in their taste as your reward, it is also a reminder for you that they're not sprayed with harmful chemicals.... oh, and of course, we're left with the birds and the bees to their thing as well!! Thank goodness :-)
WildWalnut team - our thought for the week!
It seems funny that people who might snigger a little, or roll their eyes, at our organic and natural choices we are making in our lives, might not realise they are probably on the path to realisation themselves!
What do I mean?
Well, here's some examples.....
1. I don't think there are many people who dispute that the artificial stuff that makes red cordial 'red' does funny things to our kids. Most of us try to avoid it at all costs, even non-organic minded people!
2. Lots of people try to feed themselves and their families a bit of fruit during the day, and not just processed food. Irrespective of how 'clean' the fruit is. I wonder if that is because they acknowledge that it might help their bodies to consume just a little (or lot!) of natural produce, as long as it tastes good. The next step to wondering what has been applied to that produce is not too far away!
3. Most people now acknowledge the link between smoking and lung cancer. Many of those same people didn't think that way 20 or 30 years ago. For more & more people, it's just a matter of time before thoughts turn to pesticides, herbicides, etc on our foods ....
4. Some people, whilst not minding what they eat or expose themselves to in their busy lives, take a much more cautious approach for their newborns (when they come along!). One of the biggest sectors in the organics industry is natural & organic skincare, clothing & nappies for children. Once the sleepless nights are under control, and life once again becomes manageable ;-) many new parents start to think about the choices they are making for their own health, plus the overall impact their choices will have for the environment they are leaving their children with.
