The National Centre for Sustainability (NCS) was launched in 2002 through a collaboration of several tertiary educational institutions, bringing together a dedicated network of individuals to further develop and promote sustainability concepts and education. The NCS is a leading provider of sustainability education programs, providing unique courses that are flexible and designed to be studied part-time to complement work/study commitments. NCS offers postgraduate, TAFE and short courses on sustainability.

Courses

- Vocational Graduate Certificate in Sustainability (1 year part-time, predominantly online)

This course addresses the key sustainability challenges in terms of environmental, economic and social issues at a local, national and global level. Graduates will be sought after by employers operating in areas such as resource management, environmental assessment, land and water management, change management, and sustainable design.

- Vocational Graduate Certificate in Education and Training for Sustainability (1 year p/t)

This qualification is mainly for teachers in vocational education and training, higher education, community and adult education, and secondary and primary schools. It is for those wishing to embed sustainability into their curriculum, teaching and assessment, and use education for sustainability as a tool for change.

- Diploma of Sustainability (1 year p/t)

This course is to be studied either concurrently with your existing degree or diploma, or upon completion of a diploma or above qualification. You will learn to apply sustainability concepts to your current stream of study or to your work environment, giving you an edge in your industry.

- Diploma of Carbon Management (1 year p/t)

You will understand government policy and workplace requirements on management of greenhouse gas emissions, and learn how to implement carbon reduction and sustainability programs in your workplace.

- Carbon Accounting (6 to12 weeks p/t; either delivered in the classroom or fully online)

This was Australia's first accredited short-course in Carbon Accounting, and it provides learners with international best practice methods for calculating and reporting workplace greenhouse gas emissions.

- Sustainability Reporting (GRI) (2 days), Certified by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

This comprehensive cutting edge course will assist you in developing and producing a best practice sustainability report for your workplace.
