Step 1: Analysis and reduction of emissions

Measuring a company's impact on the climate starts with the electricity bills and includes factors such as employee travel, equipment use, raw materials and recycling. Cleaner Climate can provide comprehensive energy efficiency processes that waste less energy and also examine potential industrial activities to see if they can be made more efficient or less carbon-intensive.

Step 2: Certification

This is for direct energy use in your office and for travel using company cars (Scope 1 and 2 emissions as shown in the image below)

Cleaner Climate Complete TM

This is for Scope 1 and 2 emissions and Scope 3 emissions (indirect emissions produced by your business such as employee travel to and from work, employee travel on behalf of the business, waste and embodied energy in the products you use such as computers). This certification is the equivalent of becoming 'Carbon Neutral' and is the global best practice.

Step 3: Offset Emission Reductions

There are two choices for companies looking to purchase emissions credits to offset their emissions: the regulated or 'compliance' market and the voluntary market, which is unregulated.

Cleaner Climate's offsets are governed by the regulated market.

Cleaner Climate develops its own offsets in partnership with the Central Energy Fund of South Africa. All projects are subject to the guidelines of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

Buying Certified Emissions Reductions through the CDM ensures that the emissions reductions satisfy stringent criteria set up by the United Nations Framework of Climate Change Committee (UNFCCC).
