GDM Technologies Pty Ltd is a company at the forefront of global change in life-sciences. GDM is developing, manufacturing and supporting a unique range of natural and non-toxic products for cleaning and disinfection, providing disease prevention and control in food processing, healthcare, personal care and agriculture. Manufactured using only organic, natural and non-toxic botanical extracts, our products are biodegradable and are non-harmful to humans, animals and the environment. The distinctive efficacy of our products is obtained through a proprietary platform of bioflavonoid complex formulae.
Disinfection and cleaning solution applicable to many situations.
The CitroLife active 'Bitter Orange Extract' or 'Bioflavonoid Complex' is a phytopharmaceutical (plant pharmaceutical of organic origin) that acts mechanistically by destroying the cellular membrane of a micro-organism. The anti-microbial power is due to a synergistic reaction created by the 'reaction' of bioflavonoids and ascorbic acid with other natural organic acids that make up the active in our products.
The CitroLife range has broad spectrum of activity and is effective against bacteria, both gram positive and gram negative, viruses and fungi. CitroLife formulations do not invoke pathogen mutations. The unique combination of the actives ensure that the biocidal activity (via cell wall intrusion) is not influenced by mutation in the pathogens. This is not the case with most synthetically produced biocides or disinfectants, which have to be periodically substituted to avoid 'pathogen tolerance'.
The CitroLife Range of products comprises of the following:
Citrofresh - Organic Food Wash and Sanitiser
CitroShield - Organic Surface Disinfectant and Surface Sanitiser
CitroGro - Organic Plant and Animal Health Management Products
CitroCare - Organic Health and Personal Care Products
CitroZine - Organic Ingredient Brand
Citrofresh - Food Wash & Shelf Life Extension
Citrofresh is a non toxic phyto-pharmaceutical of organic origin that acts mechanistically by destroying the cellular membrane of a micro-organism. The efficacy of Citrofresh is due to a synergistic reaction created between the non-toxic bioflavonoids it contains, ascorbic acid and other natural organic acids that are included in the formulation.
Citrofresh is carried in organic vegetable glycerine, which makes the active ingredients infinitely soluble in water. It is completely organic and is certified by NASAA and Ecocert.
Citrofresh is completely harmless to the solid cells of plants, to animals and to people. It is a terminal sanitiser and is not required to be rinsed off treated surfaces once applied. It is food contact safe and non-hazardous if it enters waterways.
Citrofresh has a kill rate of 99.99% on contact and bacteria have not been found to build up resistance to it through mutation due to the unique physical action of Citrofresh.
The retained efficacy (up to 48hours) and non rinse application of Citrofresh is effective against Biofilms which can be a major source of food contamination. Biofilms are highly resistant to removal by traditional techniques.
CitroShield - General Surface Disinfection and Cleaning
CitroShield can be used as a Hospital Grade Disinfectant along with CitroShield alkaline foaming cleaner and CitroShield water free hand sanitiser to control pathogenic bacteria, moulds and fungi. They offer a natural alternative for effective cleaning and disinfection in the control of infection in the Hospital Environment. Hospital Grade disinfectant is fast acting, broad spectrum and highly effective. The non allergenic and non toxic qualities of CitroLife disinfection products allow a natural and environmentally responsible solution for healthcare providers in controlling cross contamination with comfort and security for carers and patients. CitroShield Disinfectant is TGA approved.
CitroGro - Agriculture & Aquaculture - Feed Additives
CitroGro Plant Nutrient Synergist, CitroGro Liquid Nutrient and CitroGro Feed Additive have been developed to provide an organic plant and animal health management system by combining the biocidal capability of the product with other organic ingredients, designed to aid plant/crop/animal health through improved nutrition. Well nourished crops and animals produce increased yields. The benefits improving plant nutrition using CitroLife products are a reduction in the number of fertilisers and insecticides required and the output of higher grade of produce. In animals, CitroLife products will negate the need of using toxic anti-biotics. CitroGro Agriculture Products can be used on any type of plants or crops and CitroGro Feed Supplements can be used on any type of animal with no toxic residues.
CitroCare - Personal Care, Health Care and Cosmetics
Bioflavonoids are 'nature's biological response modifiers'. There is strong evidence of their ability to modify the body's reaction to allergens, inflammation, viruses, and carcinogens. They form an abundant group of plant polyphenols, found in a variety of foods (cereals, potatoes, bulbs, roots, peanuts, nuts, vegetables, herbs, fruits, fruit juices, cocoa, cola, coffee, beer and wine) Bioflavonoids provide much of the flavour and colour in fruits, vegetables, berries and flowers and several thousand have been identified.
Bioflavonoids have a long history of use in traditional Western medicines, Chinese and Japanese herbal medicines. They are powerful antioxidants, protecting against oxidative and free radical damage. They are essential for the proper absorption and use of vitamin C, functioning as an antioxidant, protecting vitamin C from oxidation, increasing the strength of the capillaries and regulating their permeability, preventing ruptures and providing protection against infection. They help heal wounds, and support a healthy immune system and have relatively low toxicity compared to other active plant compounds meaning that animals and humans ingest significant quantities in their diet. It is estimated that the daily dietary intake of flavonoids in the United States is about one gram per day.
CitroLife has a range of products that can be alternatives to the conventional Personal and Healthcare products currently in the market and are available upon request.
CitroZine - Ingredient Brand
CitroZine is the compound used as a natural preservative in a range of products from Foods, right through to Cosmetics and Healthcare products. CitroZine works in a pH range of 2-12 and only needs to be used at rates as low as 0.1 to 1%.
International cosmetic manufacturers are required to label ingredients according International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients, abbreviated INCI. It is the mandatory nomenclature in the United States and the European Union. Australia cosmetic manufacturers are required to label ingredients according to the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS), as regulated by the National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS). The database is very similar to INCI. Ingredients making up less than 1% of the total mass or volume of the final cosmetic do not have to be listed unless they are performing a function such as being the preservative.
Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Extract 21CFR182.20 and Bioflavonoids 21CFR330.12 are both listed on the INCI database classified as 'Skin Conditioning Agents'.
Directive 76/768 Annex VI of the EU Cosmetics Directive (Lists of preservatives which cosmetic products may contain) notes 'Other substances used in the formulation of cosmetic products may also have anti-microbial properties and thus help in the preservation of the products, as, for instance, many essential oils and some alcohols. These substances are not included in this Annex'. Thus natural preservatives are not required to be listed on Annex VI.
