Why not use 'natural' cotton?
We have been told that there is nothing better for your body than 100% natural cotton. Unfortunately, if you research the cotton industry, you will find that the cotton crop is one of the most heavily chemically sprayed crops in the world. Each plant can be soaked up to 200 times with deadly pesticides before it is harvested. Once picked, the cotton is finished using toxic formaldehydes and even heavy-metal dyes.

How we treat our fabric and our environment
ecoLinen Organic uses gentle hydrogen peroxide whitening low impact chemicals and human-friendly fixing enzymes and sodium carbonate finishing agents that all meet the eko Tex Standard 100 quality controls and comply with the rigorous SKAL International requirements. In addition, ecoLinen is proud to be the only bed linen company in Australia to be certified organic by SKAL International, which means you are guaranteed that this product is 100% organic cotton... safe for you and your family. We've also selected the finest organically grown cotton which is hand picked, sorted and combed so only the longest and strongest fibres remain. We use leading edge technology to further compress the yarn into fine filaments which that adds to softness and helps minimise wrinkling on the finished sheets, without the need for chemicals.

We believe we have made the world's best sheets and spared no expense in the process. Our quality sheets are also packaged with biodegradable and recycled materials.

Who is ecoLinen?
Tim and Jenny Ower started ecoLinen Organic with the belief that, like them, many families want simple but high-quality bed linens to help simplify and de-toxify their lives. They have friends with chemical sensitivities and skin allergies that could have been minimised by checking out the everyday fabrics that come into contact with their skin.

Tim is one of the pioneers of Organic textiles in Australia, with experience in sourcing bed linen for the hospitality industry. With twenty years in the textile industry, Tim has seen a lot of changes and understands that "organic textiles" are the way of the future. When faced with the alarming statistics on chemical use and its impact on our health and the environment, like others, Tim asked "What can one person do to make a difference - the problem is too big!" but he found the Gandhi quote: "Be the change you wish to see in the world" and has embraced it!

Jenny brings a background of interior design and a passion for quality bed linen. A women's touch is evident when you find size labels sewn into in the sheets, so you can easily find the right size in the linen cupboard... check out their website for other innovations.
