Green Pages is a directory for consumers who want to shop for ethical, environmentally-friendly products and services. Our domain name is now www.greenpages-uk.net and our email is mailbox@greenpages-uk.net. Organisations wishing to be listed pay a small fee (see below) and undertake that they meet the following criteria:

ethical employment and trade - they treat employees and producers fairly and do not exploit them for unfair gain and profit

environmentally-friendly - they do not harm the environment, either in the production of their goods or the disposal of waste and try to promote sustainablility

cruelty free - their products or services do not involve cruelty to animals, including deprivation of space and liberty

Regarding the last point, some subscribers feel that meat and meat products should not be listed at all, even though the animals they are derived from are humanely reared. We don't agree with this. To take this argument to its logical conclusion would mean not listing any dairy products either (since animals are killed as a direct result of milk and egg production). We are trying to encourage people to consume more ethically, not make them feel guilty if they are not completely vegan - though this site might help them to find vegan alternatives to products they currently buy.
