The most informative seminar series yet in Western Australia on carbon trading and climate change will be held at Murdoch University from October 20-November 17. The A-Z of the Carbon Economy - sponsored by Bunnings - will brief business, government and not-for-profits on how to manage and benefit from new reporting requirements, and develop a green brand. The five seminars are designed to help business leaders and senior managers guide their organisations through emerging challenges to gain sustainable competitive advantage. The seminar series will be delivered by 11 specialists including Murdoch University Professors Philip Jennings, David Harries and Tom Lyons, and former WA environment minister Hon Cheryl Edwardes. Topics covered include energy efficiency and renewable technologies, emissions trading, greenhouse accounting, carbon trading schemes, legal and policy requirements, and branding and marketing to the green customer. The big picture on Australian and international climate change will be outlined, along with options for risk reduction, mitigation and adaptation to global warming.
